To call the horrific bombing of Hamburg a creation of fate or an expression of Necessity is to ignore the fact that before they happened, they could have not happened.
I would recommend this for anyone interested in WWII history. Today the number again wavers between sixty thousand and a hundred thousand, and no one dares to object. I wish I could pray that no child uuntergang have to experience this but I habs that would be a fruitless prayer. There have been questions about his motivations, his circumscribed list of responsible writers, and his basic thesis — none of which do I really want to wade into.
